But the nest of an Evil Squirrel. Amongst the many (evil) friends he has, are the naughty possum Buster and Rainbow Donkey.
I promised myself to crochet Evil Squirrel months back when I first visited his blog. And last week I discovered a fantastic doll making technique – the topsy turvy dolls. My mind started to brew !! How about a possum hiding inside Evil Squirrel ….. squuueeeeeaaaall!!! I couldn’t wait to see this idea in form ! And Evil Squirrel’s contest announced few weeks back gave me enough reason to get started on this evil project.
To be honest, I hate contests and often shy away from participating in them. But, I was for long nurturing the idea of crocheting Evil Squirrel and I kept postponing because I feared the details were very difficult to translate in crochet. And I am extremely contented the way all of them have turned out.
Meet the three friends. Evil Squirrel, Buster the possum, and Sparkly the unicorn (or donkeycorn ) !!!

Mini donkeycorn !
And some more pics ……
Buster struggling to belch out ES who is giving him hell inside 🙂
ES flaunts his tail while struggling to balance the weight of Buster inside !!!
Going, going, gone …. Buster consumes ES !!!
Sparkling the other side !
In my hurry to finish all of them, I missed out on adding a couple of more details…like the mouth for ES and Buster, Buster’s tail stripes etc. On the whole I really loved crocheting all three of them, but love Buster the best ! Thanks to the contest, I got to crochet ES finally !!
Thank you 🙂 the donkeycorn head was by far the easiest both to conceive and crochet. But yes. This donkeycorn head has given me ideas to do a series of themed finger puppets !!!
OMG! Those are so adorable and so freaking bizarre at the same time! Bravo! I was a wee bit disappointed in not winning, but then I saw this and was like, yeah, no contest there. Amazing! Do you make sad ponies because that would be the awesomest thing ev-ah!
You are very talented! Great idea and very creative thinking that possum consumes squirrel!!! Loved it!!!
It is best that you have entered the contest. It is so much fun 🙂

Thank you 🙂 it was a lot of fun crocheting these characters. Competitions do drive me away and to be honest, this contest was just an excuse to challenge my grey cells 😀
Me too!!! I’m driven by challenges 🙂 This contest has been great in many ways! Love to meet new friends with (almost) similar interests. To meet very talented ones is the award itself 🙂
Love and hugs
Wow!!! Congratulations!!! You are the Winner!!! We are so happy for you 🙂
Your special effort and gifted creation has touched ES 🙂 Well-Deserved!!!

Oh thank you so much 🙂 simply loved doing this challenge and the winning was an ‘extra’ surprise 😀
So true !! meeting talented friends is such a reward in itself. Thank you so much for being here and your appreciation. It is so lovely to know you 🙂
yeah, I too first thought of making a finger puppet but went for a standing critter because I plan to have them displayed on shelves. The sparkling white yarn seems indeed to be adding a lot of sparkle 🙂
Thank you !! I am glad you like them. They were fun to make although I could have done a lot better. Missed out on a lot of details. Maybe someday when I have more time, I will make a proper amigurumi ES 🙂
