About a month back I read a post by one of my followers LOz’s Little Crochets asking if anybody could try crocheting for her, the cornflower motif of MND(charity for Motor Neuron Disease) .
Being one, who loves pampering her vanity and ego, I dint want to miss this 😉 It seemed so simple afterall. Seemed !! That is right. The truth is, it turned out to be the most difficult idea I could translate into crochet so far !!!
I googled, youtubed, read and scanned blogs, pictures and videos. I tried different techniques and made ten failed attempts. Now my ego was really getting bruised 😀 This was such a mirage. You were so close, yet so far from it. But I cracked it last week and came up with the motif below. This is as close to the picture I think I can ever get.

I will work up and post the pattern , if xloz68x is happy with this result. I am extremely happy even if it doesn’t serve the purpose, because, this is one of the most difficult patterns I have had to battle with and I have learnt a lot doing this 🙂 Don’t get me wrong. The pattern itself is a breeze and requires only beginners’ skills, but designing it was a challenge for me 😀
Thank you ! I am now confronted with driving a nail into a rather hard wall atm 🙂 Struggling with how to express two stitches in one. Does it make sense ? No isn’t it ? That is my problem now 🙂
yay ! I did. By not doing the chart at all 😀 only because she (the blogger who wanted the pattern) was not comfortable with charts. I will be posting the pattern today.
It is a triumph! Some of my “simple” patterns had me standing on my head and swinging from the light fittings before they were right. I look forward to your patterns and don’t be nervous. 😀
Ha ha !! So true. At one point I chucked it out of sight and decided to just give up. But it continued to haunt me and I picked it up with a vengeance two days later to see the end of it 😉 Nervous? well I am struggling already working up the chart 😉 Hopefully I will find a way out. Thank you so much for your ever encouraging comments 🙂
😀 😀 😀 love ittttttttttttttttttt.
was driving me crazy trying to get the patter right lol amount of times i tried myself.
this is fabulous !! I appreciate it so very much and will pay you for your efforts and pattern. I can then get making them \o/
I am so relieved to learn you like it 🙂 writing the pattern is my next challenge !! Thanks to you, this will be the first pattern I will be ever writing 🙂 Will let you know when it is ready.
Thank you, but I am already struggling to work the pattern chart !!! I don’t know how to express this particular stitch which is the most crucial one. Maybe I will have to resort to making a pictorial tute rather than conventional written instructions. Let me see what I can do. I personally prefer pattern charts. Are you okay with them ?
No worries, I am doing only written instructions with pics. Just a bit of editing and I am done. Will post it in a day or two. Have been a bit busy with some unexpected work 🙂
Take as long as you want/need………..its not an urgent thing. I’m just happy with the progress you have made with it ! Way more than I could do or even hoped you could do. 🙂
I am a beginner so can’t gaurantee that but I do have an advantage, I have the creater of the pattern following My wee blog 😀
So if I can’t then I will just contact the genuis who managed to do what I couldn’t 😀
Brilliant – it’s spot-on.
