Fabric Recycling 10 – Zippered pencil cases and pouches from jeans

Denim fabric recycled from jeans are my favourite fabric for bags, purses and pencil cases.

The one below I hand sewed for my daughter when she had just joined her new school at grade 5. We had just moved to a new country and I dint have my sewing machine.

I even tried to embroider a bit (I bet even a novice would do better than this !) and added a Barbie bead from her old favourite hair band. This pencil case was not much used for whatever reason and now houses washi tapes 🙂

Another one recycled from jeans retaining the embroidery from the original jeans. This has a crocheted Golden snitch (of Harry Potter fame) key ring for a zip pull.

And the one below was hand sewed as an adhoc solution from a leg of a pair of jeans to store all our nail polish 4 years ago. I am ashamed to share, this is one of those neglected projects that never got revisited 😉 It still remains in the same state with a promise to repair it every time we remove a bottle to paint our nails 😀078

And lastly, a wallet wristlet that is now home to my small crochet hooks that go with me when I travel !
